Macro UX: Self-Driving Public Transport

OMNI and the Lighthouse Group

Teammates: Qibin Cheng, Ruoxi Song, Wan Ying Liang

A speculative design project, we created a possible future for self-driving public transport, oriented around a private-public partnership with a tech conglomerate named OMNI, and a grassroots movement to protect the population called the Lighthouse Group. The project was displayed as a museum exhibit.

OMNI

We created branding, posters and strategy for a fictional tech conglomerate, designed using scenario building around a theme of corporate ownership and blind trust

The Lighthouse Group

Through focus groups and narrative personas, we created a grassroots organisation to reintroduce safety measures on board automated vehicles

BlackBox

One of the key components of the Lighthouse Group was an app called BlackBox that included passengers in the data sharing ecosystem. This was developed using iterative user testing, focus groups, and high-fidelity prototyping. We also created a media campaign to promote usage of the tool
